A jersey inspired by Genk’s heritage
A football shirt is more than just a kit. It tells the story of a club, its city and its supporters.

For KRC Genk, we helped launch all three kits at the beginning of the season, creating an overarching story that linked them together. The home and away kits were featured in a campaign called “De mijne(n) en de uwe”, highlighting the long history of the coal miners and showing the duality between the home and away kits. For the golden third kit (European kit), we literally dove deeper. The gold-coloured jersey, printed with a black coal pattern, was designed as a tribute to Genk’s mining history, so we brought the mines to life through 3D animation, showing an underground cave with a projection of past European successes.
What we did
Sporthouse developed the creative storytelling and content production around the launch of the new shirts.

The campaign translated the inspiration behind the kit — Genk’s mining heritage — into visual storytelling that connects the past, present and future of the club.

Our role included: creative concept and storytelling, video and photography production, social-first launch content and digital distribution across the club’s platforms.

Through strong visuals and storytelling, the campaign positioned the kits not just as a jerseys, but as a symbol of the city and its history.
The result
The launch generated strong engagement among supporters and reinforced the connection between KRC Genk, its identity and its community. Focussing on the melting pot that is Genk.

By turning the story behind the kits into a digital campaign, the new shirt became more than a design, it became a tribute to the club’s roots.
